What We Do
At Coco-Park Animal Hospital, we offer comprehensive examinations that help evaluate the overall health of your pet. Regular physical examinations can allow the doctor to detect problems early, before they become serious. Preventative medicine is the easiest, least expensive and most important way to keep your pet healthy. Early detection ensures prompt action that may solve the problem before serious consequences occur.
Hair loss and constant scratching can indicate fleas, allergies or other more serious skin conditions. We provide specialized dermatological services to all of our patients including allergy testing and desensitization treatments, along with the latest medical advancements in allergy treatment including Apoquel and Cytopoint therapies.
Our doctors perform procedures such as spays, neuters, mass removals, and other types of soft tissue surgeries. We use top of the line anesthesia equipment to provide the safest anesthesia possible. We also have a dedicated nurse-anesthetist. Before our patients undergo anesthesia, we also perform extensive pre-anesthesia testing to minimize the risk to your loved one. We understand anesthesia or surgery can be stressful.
Immunizations are a crucial part of your pet’s health care. Some immunizations are recommended yearly while others are given every three years. Usually administered during an annual exam, we work with you to develop an individual vaccine protocol that best suits your pet’s needs. We also offer vaccine titers, which are blood tests that measure the level of protection your pet has if you have concerns about vaccinating your loved one.
Clean teeth and healthy gums are essential to your pet’s health and longevity. Infections are more common in the mouth because they can go undetected for long periods of time. Did you know 60% of dog’s and cat’s teeth structure are below the gumline?! Our veterinary staff regularly performs oral exams, cleanings and periodontal care as part of our comprehensive health care goals. We offer digital dental radiology to detect problems below the gumline.
This unique form of identification is an easy, yet permanent way to bring your pet home quickly should he / she become lost. The microchip is a tiny electronic device, about the size and shape of a grain of rice, that is implanted beneath your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades and stays there for his / her entire life. This procedure is as easy and as painless as a vaccination.
We also offer select orthopedic and advanced soft tissue procedures here at Coco-Park Animal Hospital with our Board-Certified Surgeons, Dr. David Spranklin and Dr. Sarah Evans, who have availability by appointment. We do not provide all types of specialty surgeries as there are certain cases that would be best handled in a referral hospital setting. If your pet needs an advanced surgery, you may schedule a consultation with one of our doctors for more information & eligibility details.
Our office has a top of the line digital radiology machine that allows us to see excellent detail and find subtle changes that plain-film x-rays of the past might miss. We also work with a Board-Certified Veterinary radiologist to ensure that your pet receives the best possible care when he or she needs it the most.
We offer internal medicine consultation services by appointment through our Internal Medicine specialist Dr. Bettina Mayer-Roenne. She also performs ultrasounds, endoscopy and many other advanced procedures right in our office! Please call our office for more information.
BATHS & NAIL TRIMS
Hygiene is important. We gladly offer baths and nail trims to our patients. We do not provide complete grooming services, although medically necessary grooms and feline lion cuts under sedation are offered. Please call the office for more details.
